Notes, noises, loops that comes from the famous Japanese composer’s laptop will match with the romantic atmospheres of the first animated movies from masters like Tosanae Yamamoto, Noburou Ofuji, Yasuji Murata e Mitsuo Seo.
Something about Ikue
Ikue Mori, born in Tokio, moved to New York in 1977. She started her career as percussionist collaborating with fellow noise pioneers Arto Lindsay and Tim Wright and creating a new brand of radical rhythms and dissonant sounds.
In the mid 80’s Ikue started in employ drum machines in the unlikely context of improvised music. She collaborated with a lot of artist in improvisation in Europe, USA and Asia.
During the 90’s, Ikue collaborated with film maker Abigail Child, that realized a series of video vignettes based on Ikue’s songs.
She won Distinctive Award for Prix Ars Electronics Digital Music in 1999. In 2000, Ikue started using laptop computer to enlarge her musical horizon without betraying her own style.
