Italy, XII century: in a medieval frame happens Matilde di Canossa’s story: an historical and legendary name of the Emilian territory. Feudal lord of a great part of the Northern and Central Italy, Matilde held the balance of power in the conflict between the Pope and the Empire. In-fact, she was attached by blood relation to the Emperor but by a strong ideology to the reformed Church.
As a woman full of determination, art of the compromise and heart, Matilde managed to survive in a brutal and violent world. With her, the reform of the clergy succeeded, that will be so important for the whole mankind.
