Johan and his father have lived at sea for as long as Johan can remember. Johan likes the ship, and wishes that he could also steer it some day. Then he would go to the Kingdom of The Feather King to look for his mother. One day when Johan’s father goes for provisions and Johan is left alone on the boat, he receives a mysterious call on the radio with information about the Feather King, and then Johan sets off on an adventure of his own...
Esben Toft Jacobsen
Esben Toft Jacobsen graduated from The National Film School of Denmark as Animation Director in 2006 with the graduation film Having a Brother, about the hedgehog Morten who wants to get rid of his baby brother. The film was awarded a special mention at the Berlinale’s children’s section, Generation Kplus. Since 2008, Esben has been firmly associated with Copenhagen Bombay, directing such titles as the short Kiwi & Strit for Carsten & Gitte’s Movie Madness and The Great Bear, which was also picked for competition for Berlinale’s Generation Kplus. The Great Bear premiered in Denmark in February of 2011 and garnered very positive reviews and several international awards.
