Torrey Pines
Torrey Pines
by Clyde Petersen – United States, 2016
(60', O.V. with Italian subtitles)
California, the ‘90s. Raised by a schizophrenic mother that torments her with her conspiratory delusions, the twelve-year-old transgender Clyde does not have an easy life. The arrival of puberty and the discovery of her sexual identity make the situation even more difficult.
The award winner independent transgender director Petersen tells a story of growth and self-discovery with humour and great personality, that the director describes as “A queer punk coming-of-age tale”. An incredibly original work.
