Stop-motion

Future Film Festival 2010 pays an homage to the stop-motion, one of the oldest animation technique, that now is used in a very inventive way by artists and production companies. A fil rouge will follow the audience amongs movies, labs and meeting dedicated to the stop-motion.

The key figures of this focus will be: the co-founder of Aardman Animations, David Sproxton, will present the last works of the well-known production company based in Bristol (Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit);  the Aardman animator Merlin Crossingham will realize a  workshop on stop-motion; the English artist, Osbert Parker, famous for the original mix in his works of a lot of techniques, from stop-motion to cut-out to live action; the producer Allison Abbate, from the English company Frankenweenie, who produced The Iron Giant, Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride and the last movie by Wes Anderson, Fantastic Mr Fox.
There will be workshops with the special guests and, in collaboration with British Council, the FFF will organize a panel discussion about this technique on the cinema.
