Future Film Shorts

According to its well-established tradition, Future Film Festival dedicates a broad section to shorts realized with animation or with special effects coming from all over the world. Any kind of technique and experimentation is eligible for Future Film Short, so as to better set off individual artists’ creativity. This year too, besides the Groupama Assicurazioni audience awards, an expert jury will award the prize for the best short film.

The Future Film Short jury has assigned the Premio della Giuria - Provincia di  Bologna (1000 euros) for the best short to The Lighthouse Keeper by David Francois, Rony Hotin, Heremie Moreau, Baptiste Rogron, Gaëlle Thierry, Maïlys Vallade and the special mention to De si près by Remi Durin.
The FFF audience has assigned the Premio del Pubblico Groupama for the best shorts to Fard byDavid Alapont and Luis Briceno (1000 euros) and to The Man is the Only Bird that Carries his own Cage by Claude Weiss (500 euros).

The jury

Vittorio Giardino
Born in Bologna in 1946, electronics engineer, at the age of 31 he leaves his profession to dedicate himself to the world of comic strips. He works in the illustration and poster fields, however, comic strips remain his main interest. His works have been translated into 14 languages and published in 20 countries. He has also contributed to dailies such as «La Repubblica», «Il Messaggero» and «L’Unità», weekly publications like «L’Espresso» and «Meridiani» and magazines such as «Vogue».

Franco Giubilei
Franco Giubilei, since 2001 correspondent of the daily neswpaper «La Stampa», was born in 1963 near Milan. He started his career in 1991 working for «Gazzetta di Modena», then «Indipendente» and «Il Secolo XIX». He has contributed to «D, la Repubblica delle Donne» magazine as fashion and entertainment correspondent and has published the essays Le donne, i cavalier, l’arme, la roba – storia e storie di Andrea Pazienza and Capelli lunghi, the novel Ultimo stadio, and has contributed to Il Male 1978-82. Gli anni che cambiarono la satira.

Matteo Stanzani
Artist, cartoonist and director, Matteo Stanzani has founded and is the Creative Director of Melazeta srl, New Media Factory, which has been developing high added-value cross-platform content since 1998; he makes and produces digital paperless animation applied to the new media, from television cartoon series (Gino il Pollo, RAI; Pc Toons, RAI) to videogames (Magic-Kinder Worldwide portal), from the Web to mobile phones, to interactive communication systems.
