Platinum Grand Prize

The  Platinum Grand Prize is the Future Film Festival competition for feature films. A prestigious jury has been called to judge ten animated films or live actions with special effects.

Francesca Ghermandi
Francesca Ghermandi starts her career in the mid-1980s working for «Reporter» and «Frigidaire»; she then sets up a steady collaboration with «Il Manifesto» and «Il Gambero Rosso». She has published comics in France, Spain and the USA, gaining many awards on the way. Since 1985 she has been steadily working on strips and illustrations for dailies, magazines and publishers. Her last book is Grenuord.

Emidio Clementi
Emidio Clementi is leading voice, lyric composer and bass player for the band Massimo Volume with whom he has published fi ve records. In 2004, with the El-Muniria music project he published an album titled Stanza 218. He had his debut as a writer in 1997 with Gara di Resistenza, a collection of poems and short stories, to be then followed by four novels. Matilde e i suoi tre padri (2009) is the most recent one. He teaches creative writing at Bologna’s Accademia di Belle Arti.

Nick Vivarelli
Born in Florence to an American mother and an Italian father. After graduating at New York University, he has worked in the fi eld of literary translation and managed an art gallery before taking up journalism and working as a movie critic. He is currently Rome Bureau Chief for «Variety» and habitué of the main international fi lm festivals, besides having contributed to several magazines, among which «The Associated Press», «Newsweek» and «The Hollywood Reporter».
